Another Postcard

This is one of many postcards that I have given to people that I know, the postage is paid so all they have to do is add something and pop it ion the post. This is for an exhibition in January so I wanted to have some responses. I am keeping up the small cards though.

This is the back of a postcard that I drew on, much like the cards, but with postage paid.

The first collaboration

Heya this is the first reply to the cards that I have placed around, I'm so delighted. The lad who replied found it at a house party, I have no idea how it got there, but how great is that. cheers Jimbo.

Answer to why I left a card in tescos

well I think its quite a nice idea finding a piece of art at the supermarket, and the fact that its free. Its not a comment on tescos at all, its really just one of the locations that I was at on that particular day. I want to put the cards in places that people go on a regular basis, everyday, very much inpublic. Also I'm doing my thesis on artists books and one artist had the dream that these book art creations would be available at supermarkets, gas stations, etc. I think thats great.

To Explain

I thought I should explain how this site works. I post information daily, photos or text. You can leave comments on the site by clicking on the comment link at the bottom of the photo or text. If anything isn't clear please let me know I'm still learning the basics and would like to make this site work as well as possible. Cheers

Where I put the cards

Someone was asking where I leave the cards so I think I might choose different locations to leave them incase anyone wants to go check it out. I will keep up the dropping them randomly too. I leave them on buses everyday, last week I left them in Dun Laoghaire and this coming Thursday I'll leave them around Temple Bar, perhaps some in the temlpe bar gallery.

New Cards

I got new cards printed on Friday, they are a little clearer in explaining the intent of this project.
I drew this picture on the bus going out to college. I quite like it, I'm not sure why. I wonder did someone pick it up? Did someone keep it or throw it away, or did the cleaner sweep it up at the end of the day. I suppose I'll never know, but thats one of the interesting things about this.

Mail Art Postcard Exhibition

hello

I'm starting this blog, to take over from emailartist.blogspot.com
The Idea of this site is to create collaberative art with the public.
I am placing cards around Dublin, they have images on them and an email and this sites' address, they also have a PO box address.
I would love if people would add their own artwork (of any kind) to the cards and send them (or copy of it) back to me.
Leave your comments on this site if you like.
Spread the word and keep your eyes peeled. Heres an example of one of the cards and where I've placed another.
